Strip of bobbin lace with diagonally placed leaves and seven-pointed cartouches

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating pattern consists of a strip-width filling, diagonally placed leaf with wavy edge, under which hangs a row of goblet flowers. Parallel to this stands a seven-pointed cartouche, framed by leaves and filled with rosettes. The motifs stand against each other and partially overlap each other. Where they do not touch, they are connected by a fine decorative ground, a snowflake ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and net stitch fillings. The top and bottom edges of the strip are finished straight, the bottom edge being provided with picots.
