Strip of bobbin lace with long feathered and curling leaves

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating fine pattern consists of long and richly feathered leaves, with splits and curling ends. Between the leaves two large flowers can be distinguished with many narrow pointed petals, like a clover flower. The successive patterns flow smoothly into each other, with a splitting leaf with an arch curling over the flower from the preceding pattern. The motifs are connected by a decorative ground, a snowflake ground. The work is mainly made in linen stitch with openwork edges and partly in net stitch. Top and bottom are finished straight, with the underside provided with picots.
