Folding fan with (rice) paper leaf, painted in tempera with King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba, on an openwork and relief-carved ivory mount. 14 non-connected ribs with two cupids with quivers in the central medallion, flanked on the left and right by vases with flowers and butterflies with flower garlands. On the outer ribs, a shepherdess with a shepherd's staff. Rice (?) paper leaf with a central scene on the front of King Solomon on a throne and a kneeling Queen of Sheba with her retinue. Left, a sepia medallion with a pillar (or altar) with a crown; right, a similar medallion with a pillar (or altar) with a scroll with hanging text. On the back, in the center, a circle with the year 1784. Above it, a flower garland hanging at the ends from a gold-colored eye on a head nail. Locking pin of cut glass or crystal in a silver setting.
