Needle lace strip with grape leaves and bunches of grapes

Strip of natural-coloured needle lace: men's Alençon. Repeating motif of a bunch of grapes with vine leaf on a fine hexagonal mesh ground with twisted spindles. Above it a scatter motif of small branches with round flower and two oval leaves. The bunch of grapes and the leaf spring upwards from a horizontal spiral vine and curve in opposite directions from each other, but always to the same side. Under the spiral vine a very fine ground of single, strongly twisted meshes, with a repeating motif of a narrow five-fingered leaf. Solid work without openings in these five-fingered leaves and in the oval leaves and the grapes. One type of ornamental ground in the vine leaves. Scalloped border with regular arches along the lower edge. The upper side is edged with a border of bobbin lace.
