Strip of needle lace with dots

Strip of natural-colored needle lace: Alençon lace. Regular pattern of dots, formed by circular rosettes with cord, on a fine hexagonal mesh ground. The pattern at the lower edge consists of a fine round flower with a wheel picot in the center, alternating with ovals. The stems of the flowers point vertically upwards and curl at the end. The ovals are filled with a decorative ground, alternating with and without (wheel) picots. The mesh ground between the flowers and ovals is finer than the mesh ground with dots above. The upper side is edged with a bobbin lace border. At the lower edge, an arch border connects the aforementioned flowers and ovals.
