Strip of Bobbin Lace with a Border of Broken Circles Crowned by

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Lille lace. The strip is sewn to a wider strip of machine-made tulle, without pattern. The repeating pattern on the bobbin lace strip consists along the lower side of broken circles placed against each other, which at the break point are crowned by a whimsical leaf. Above this pattern stands a row of square motifs. The motifs are connected by a fine grid ground, a tulle ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thicker, shiny outline threads. The motifs are made in mold stitch. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The shells along the lower side are finished with picots.
