Border of bobbin lace with pear-shaped fruits on S-shaped stems with flowers

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of an S-shaped stem with at one end two pear-shaped fruits between leaves and at the other side alternately a carnation or a cluster of five flowers with pointed petals. The pattern along the underside is formed by a series of, among others, an oval between leaves, a broad horn-shaped leaf, three rosette flowers and an elongated twisted form. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground, the round Valenciennes ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cutouts and openwork edges. The slightly scalloped underside follows the pattern along the underside and is finished with picots. The top side is finished straight.
