About this work

Engageante of natural-colored applied lace: Brussels bobbin lace applied on drochel ground. Symmetrical scatter pattern of flowers and flower sprigs above a border with two different scrolls between which a coarser lattice ground runs than in the rest of the lace. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and bobbin relief contours. In ovals in the lower scroll and in flower hearts small decorative elements are used, including blocks in form stitch. The top side is finished straight. The very flat shell border is finished with picots.
