Strip of bobbin lace with fine thistle flowers and irregular shell edges

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Old Flemish lace. The symmetrical shells from which the strip is built have irregularly shaped edges on the underside. The shells originate from a volute along the upper edge from which two tendrils wind downwards along a straight central tendril hanging down. At the ends of the tendrils small stylized thistle flowers form. There is hardly any ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. The shells are edged with fine picots. The upper side is finished with a straight edge.
