Strip of bobbin lace with scattered sprigs and curved double sprigs

Strip of natural-coloured Brussels bobbin lace. The pattern consists of scattered flowers on stems, stars and branches with berries. Along the lower side runs a border with various linked ovals, from which double branches spring that bend to the left of the middle of the strip to the left and to the right of the middle to the right. The motifs are connected by a fine mesh ground, a drochel ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and largely provided with bobbin-relief contours. In the flower hearts of the larger scattered flowers a block is made in block stitch. In the ovals along the lower side decorative grounds have been applied with coarser meshes than the drochel ground. The upper side is finished straight. The shallow scalloped lower side is finished with picots.
