Handkerchief with a square center of batiste, on which the initials EB are embroidered diagonally in a corner. The handkerchief is finished all around with a border of natural-colored ribbon lace (mixed lace): Luxeuil lace, with a drawn thread ribbon and needle lace fillings. The symmetrical pattern consists of a heart-shaped motif on the corners and a sunflower in the middle of each side, the contours of which are formed by a narrow drawn thread ribbon. Between heart and sunflower a deeply cut and pointed leaf running diagonally from the corners to the outside at the sunflower. Within the contours forming the motifs, decorative grounds are applied (needle lace). The motifs are connected to each other by a bar ground (needle lace). The irregular and pointed scalloped edge results from the pattern with the heart and pointed leaves.
