Handkerchief of natural-colored batiste finished around with natural-colored bobbin lace: fine Bruges flower work. The lace has a repeating pattern of rosette flowers on a short stem with a leaf on each side alternated by a flower with three elongated oval petals, on a short stem with two leaves. The rosette flowers have an openwork flower heart. In each corner stand four rosette flowers together without stem. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thick contour lines. The veins of the elongated oval petals are represented with cutouts. The flowers are connected by a plaited ground. The scallop border along the outside comes from the pattern and is finished with picots.
