Handkerchief of batiste finished around with bobbin lace with zigzag brackets and a flower branch with three daisies in each corner

Handkerchief of natural-colored batiste finished around with natural-colored bobbin lace: fine Bruges flower work. The batiste is cut along each side in acolyte shape, as is also the shape of the lace. Each cut acolyte consists of two zigzag decorative borders in an elongated faint S-shape. Attached to this is a series of half-ovals, arches or leaves, which form the scallop border. In each corner is placed diagonally a flower branch with oval leaves and three daisies which form the scallops in the corner. The flower branch originates from a C-scroll under which a three-lobed flower hangs which is attached to the batiste. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thick contour lines. The veins of (flower) leaves and arches are made with cutouts in which overlapping pairs are visible. The flowers are connected by a plaited ground. The openwork flower hearts are each decorated with a block between four spandrels. The blocks are made in square form stitch.
