About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Lille lace. The repeating pattern consists of a hanging branch with a three-lobed flower. Running along the lower edge is a continuous line of inverted arches. The branches stand on a fine diamond-shaped mesh ground, the net ground. The sparse solid work is made in linen stitch with thicker and shiny contour threads. The strip is widened at the top with a strip of net. The lower edge is finished straight and provided with picots. The short sides are cut diagonally and finished with a hem.
