About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Valenciennes lace. Under a sprinkling pattern of leaves runs slightly above the bottom edge of the strip a continuous wavy line with short side branches and small leaves. The space between the narrow wavy line and the bottom edge is filled with a row of closely placed triple leaves and below that a row of leaves like those used for the sprinkling pattern. The motifs are made in linen stitch with worked edges and they are connected by a lattice ground, a square Valenciennes ground. The top and bottom edges are finished straight, the bottom edge provided with picots.
