Strip of bobbin lace with carnation on curved stem and broad S-shaped leaf

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating pattern consists of a large carnation on a curved stem. A smaller lobed flower bends on a side branch in the opposite direction. A faint S-shaped and broad leaf forms the connection with the carnation from the subsequent pattern. The motifs are connected to each other by an ornamental ground, a snowflake ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges. In a space under the carnation as ornamental ground another snowflake ground is used. And in the S-shaped leaf an ornamental ground with motifs resembling snowflakes is used. Top and bottom are finished straight, whereby the bottom is provided with picots, which are not all intact anymore.
