Strip of bobbin lace with symmetrical pattern and richly worked coarse ornamental grounds

Strip or collar of natural-colored Brussels bobbin lace. The symmetrical pattern consists in the center of two flowers bending towards each other, which stand directly on top of two diagonally placed and curved pointed oval leaves. In the wide field below stand two diagonally placed against each other C-scrolls with two flowers underneath that occupy the entire triangular field that the C-scrolls form. Similar forms recur in different compositions in the rest of the strip, with different types of flowers including rosette flowers, poppy heads and wild tulip-like flowers. The motifs are made in linen stitch with openwork edges and cutouts. The motifs are connected by richly worked coarse decorative grounds with braided lattice work with balls and/or rosette flowers to very fine lattice work with a diamond pattern formed by fine blocks in form stitch. Part of the motifs is provided with cutwork relief contours. Cutwork relief lines also occur in the lattice work.
