About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Lille lace. The repeating pattern begins below the center line of the strip and consists from the underside upwards of a daisy with an open flower heart, with above it an elongated lying twig and above that two obliquely placed twigs with a hanging flower. The motifs are placed against each other and are connected by a fine mesh ground, a tulle ground. The motiflets are partly made in linen stitch and partly with a decorative ground, with the thicker and shiny contour threads predominating. The top edge is finished straight. The scallops along the underside come from the daisies and are finished with picots.
