Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace: Mechelen lace. The repeating pattern consists of two interlocking symmetrical compositions. One composition consists of a three-lobed cartouche with a rosette inside and along the upper edge two halved rosette flowers. The other composition consists of a wave valley with along the top a half daisy, from which two pairs of diagonal lines come that fill the wave valley and along the bottom two thick volute leaves turned away from each other. The motifs are connected by ornamental grounds, including the snowflake ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with few cutouts and with thicker contour threads. The slightly scalloped underside results from the pattern and is finished with picots. The upper side of the strip is finished straight. The short sides are sewn together.
