Cap band of two sewn-together strips of bobbin lace with oval cartouches containing a diamond-shaped cartouche with tulips and ten-pointed cartouches

Collar of two strips of natural-colored bobbin lace sewn together lengthwise, Mechelen lace. In the middle of the strip one of the sewn-together strips is interrupted by a piece of linen batiste, which is not finished along the outer edge. The combined and repeating pattern consists in its entirety of linked and interlocking oval cartouches, with two alternating symmetrical motifs inside. One motif concerns a diamond-shaped cartouche from which branches with tulips spring on the left and right from the point. The other motif is a ten-pointed cartouche. The short sides are rounded and the entire outer edge is scalloped and finished with picots.
