About this work
Insertion of machine lace: machine Valenciennes lace. The repeating pattern consists of a series of two different stylized round flowers with a coarser and a finer machine snowflake ground as flower heart. One flower consists of eight loose round petals forming a circle. The other flower consists of a circle of eight linked semi-circular motifs. The motifs appear to be made in linen stitch with openwork edges. They are connected to each other by a machine trellis ground.
