About this work

Handkerchief with a border of natural-colored mixed lace, Brussels bobbin lace and needle lace with needle lace ground. A scalloped batiste center is surrounded by a lace border with asymmetrical pattern. The closed worked, wavy inner and outer edges consist of small rocailles with a filling of open hatching, from c-scrolls with wheel edge, with relief contours and grid filling and from feather leaves. In the corners stand inside and outside these borders each time a large Christmas rose. On the sides the Christmas roses appear three times.
