About this work

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Old Flemish lace. The pattern consists of a wavy volute scroll with various large and small flowers and curling leaves. The motifs are connected by a mesh ground. The motifs are made in linen stitch with cut-outs and openwork edges. Different decorative grounds are used as filling for flowers and leaves. The upper side is finished straight. The lower side is slightly wavy and follows the edges of the motifs.
