About this work

Palla of natural-colored bobbin lace: Antwerp lace. In the center of the pattern stand two animals: stags leaping towards each other with a tree or fruit between them. The motifs are made in linen stitch with thicker and shiny contour threads and they are connected to each other by a lattice ground: a Valenciennes ground. The palla is finished around with a strip of bobbin lace: Mechelen lace, with spider ground and with a pattern of leaves and flowers.
