About this work

Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace. Worked with coarse thread, the strip is part of a collection of twenty-six pieces of lace intended as study material. In a coarse grid ground, a Parisian ground, a repeating pattern is made in linen stitch of two squares placed side by side and two hearts placed above each other, forming a rosette. Narrow bands along the top and bottom of the strip are made in net stitch, which also finishes the long sides. The short sides are cut off.
