About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Russian lace. The pattern is formed by a winding ribbon, which alternately forms large curves and deep narrow lobes. The ribbon is made in close-worked linen stitch, with openwork edges. Relief contours are formed by a plait that runs over the middle of the ribbon. The pattern is held in shape by an ornamental ground and consists of four-pointed stars and diamonds, made with picoted plaits. The upper side is finished straight and provided with picots. The shells along the lower side are also finished with picots.
