Two labourers

Outside on uneven terrain, two men sit on the ground with their knees drawn up. Both men wear a hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) pulled up above the knees; around their upper body and arms they have wrapped a large shawl (chadar). The man sitting on the left supports his covered left elbow on his left knee. The man on the right seems to hold his arms folded under the shoulder cloth in front of his chest. His feet are firmly planted in front of him on the sloping ground. Both men have short hair, either cut or shaved. The men are probably from South India and employed in Colombo in the reconstruction.
