Woman with a child

A standing woman seen from the back. She wears a long wrap skirt (redda) of striped fabric, and a wide Portuguese blouse with long sleeves (hatte). Two flaps are visible on her hip of her wrap skirt tied in the local manner. Her hair is pulled back tightly into a bun (condé). With her right arm she holds a child on her hip. The child holds on to the woman's blouse with its left arm. The child wears a short vest. The flap on the back of the Portuguese blouse is the neckline cut out at the front and folded back; thus the blouse can be made from one piece of fabric, with only seams at the bottom of the sleeves to the waist. On the page some faint sketches made with a metal point are also visible. In the middle of the page a vertical line (a wall?). To the left of it a sitting figure. To the right of it a sitting figure with possibly a child on her arm, and some objects on the ground. Page 53 from a sketchbook with 117 pages.
