Sitting woman

On the ground sits a woman. She is dressed in a wrap skirt (redda), which falls wide over her spread, raised knees. Above that she wears a wide Portuguese blouse with a V-neck and long sleeves (hatte). She holds her hands crossed in front of her. Her hair appears to be short-cropped. Her earlobes have large stretched holes. She is likely of Tamil or Sinhalese origin. On the page some faint sketches made with a metal point are visible. In the middle of the page two vertical lines, possibly of a market stall. To the left of it, above the head of the sitting woman, the head of a standing figure protrudes. Next to it another figure seems to be sitting. On the right a faint image of a figure seen from the side, who seems to be sitting on a bench (horizontal line).
