Two labourers

On the left on the ground in uneven terrain, a man sits in a tailor's position, drawn from behind. His back and shoulders are completely wrapped in a large shawl (chadar). Of the hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) he wears, only some folds are visible on the right. Around his head with short-cropped hair, he wears a headscarf or cap. The standing man wears a knee-length hip-cloth (veshti, lungi) pulled between the legs, wide at the waist, and a shawl (chadar) over his left shoulder and upper left arm. His torso, right arm, and left forearm are bare. He looks at his hands, holding up a piece of palm leaf (?). Both men are likely from South India and employed in Colombo for reconstruction.
