About this work

Model of a double capstan in a wooden frame representing two decks. The upper capstan is for eight windlasses, the lower for ten. Both have four palls in the foot to prevent running back. The upper capstan has a hollow wooden king, within which the extended metal king of the lower capstan runs; with two iron wedges through the upper drum, the two kings are connected so that the two capstans become one. When the wedges are removed, one has two independent capstans. Scale 1:10 (estimate). Identical to NG-MC-204-A.
