Sea chart of the coast of Gambia and a part of the coast of Senegal, Guinea and Sierra Leone, with two compass roses, North lying to the left. In the upper center the title and publisher's address, next to which a dark-skinned man with a feather headdress is about to strike two snakes with his axe. An ape runs away from the snakes. In the background two buffaloes. In the lower right some mermaids and a sea serpent near the scale, shown in German, Spanish and English or French miles (scale: c. 1:1,500,000).
