About this work
Canto Twenty-Nine from 'Orlando Furioso'. Ariosto and Rodomonte fight each other on the bridge leading to the mausoleum that Rodomonte had built in honor of Isabella. The men fall into the water, after which the armored Rodomonte drowns. In the background, Fordelis views the weapons of knights defeated by Rodomonte, attached to the wall of the mausoleum.
