Sheet with four oval scenes, each with inscription and date in Latin: top left Saint Bibiana of Rome who is whipped, top right Saint Birinus of Dorchester at a coast looking at a ship, bottom left Saint Barbara of Nicomedia holding a palm branch and a small tower in his hands, bottom right Saint Sabas of Mar-Saba reading by a cave. This print is part of a series of prints depicting the saints and the Christian feast days of the year. Four scenes from one plate are printed on each sheet. Including the corresponding title page and frontispiece, the series comprises 124 plates (490 scenes). The three plates with the last 12 scenes (the moveable Christian feast days) were cut down in the third state to 12 small prints, and issued with a separate title page.
