About this work
The god Saturn as personification of the planet Saturn with his attributes, a sickle and a snake biting its tail. The god holds his son to devour him. At his feet are the constellations Aquarius and Capricorn, his planetary children. He stands on a pedestal in an architectural frame decorated with ornaments. In the frieze at the bottom, a star is depicted in a medallion, flanked by playing putti. The print is printed with multiple woodblocks.
