About this work

A soldier, full-length, facing right, holding a matchlock musket (a specific type of firearm) with his left hand. In his left hand, besides the musket, he holds a burning match. With his right hand, he grasps this match. This print is part of the series of 42 numbered prints of matchlock musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
