About this work
A soldier on guard, full-length, facing right, holding a musket (a certain type of firearm) with his right hand, the barrel angled upwards. He places the barrel with his left hand, which also holds a lit match, on his fork (musket fork). This print is part of the series of 43 numbered prints of musketeers from the Wapenhandelinghe.
