About this work
The siege of Damiate in 1219. Oval representation of the ships before the harbors in a frame decorated with armor, water creatures, and various coats of arms. At the top the city maiden of Haarlem with the coat of arms of Haarlem; angels hold a laurel wreath over her head. In the upper corners more coats of arms. Below the representation a verse in three columns of four lines.
