The investiture of Maurice with the Order of the Garter, 4 February 1613. Maurice receives the garter from a herald in the great hall of the Binnenhof in The Hague, in the presence of the English ambassador, Johan van Oldenbarnevelt, the members of the States-General, and many other guests. In the foreground outside a large crowd of soldiers and eleven cannons. Parts of the city are visible on the left and right. In the upper left the coat of arms of Maurice with an eagle and the garter, on the right a cut-out and pasted cartouche with the dedication by Frisius to Maurice and the States-General. The print pasted on a sheet of paper on which the title was written with a pen.
