About this work
A soldier, full-length, facing right, taking a musket (a specific type of firearm) from his left shoulder with his right hand. In his left hand, besides the stock of the musket, a fork (musket fork) and a burning match, ca. 1645. Printed on the reverse with text in French. Free after plate 3 in the instructions for handling the musket in the Wapenhandelinghe by J. de Gheyn. Military affairs around 1600.
