About this work

Linen damask napkin with a hunting scene. Central field: the symmetrical pattern shows two scenes: 1 A hunter blowing a horn and carrying a musket walks from the center to the side. He is dressed in justaucorps, low shoes, and a wide-brimmed hat. In front of him, a dog walking away. Above him, between the trees, a pack of dogs chasing a hare. 2 From the side, a hunter, in the same attire, walks towards the center. He has a musket at the ready and follows the dogs surrounding a stag. In the distance in the center, a hunting lodge among trees. Standing and lying borders, separated from the central field by a line: symmetrical volute scrolls, decorated with a blocked inner design; outside this, a narrow block border.
