About this work
Strip of natural-coloured bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating and sparse pattern consists of two different symmetrical candelabra motifs, both crowned by two volute leaves. The candelabra motifs stand alternately inverted. The motifs are connected by an irregular decorative ground, a snowflake ground. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, with the underside provided with picots.
