About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating and sparse pattern consists of two different symmetrical candelabra motifs. The narrowest of the two has a teardrop-shaped center, the broader is provided with volutes from four points around the center, forming an X. The candelabra motifs stand alternately upside down. The motifs are connected by an irregular ornamental ground, a snowflake ground. The top side is finished with a separately bobbin-made band. The bottom side is finished straight and provided with picots.
