About this work

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, old Flemish lace. The repeating and continuous pattern consists of a very sparse vine with very many C-shaped offshoots and with small oval knobs or berries at the ends. The vine is made in a latticework ground, a five-hole ground. The very sparingly applied solid work is made in linen stitch, where the openwork edges are about as wide as the solid work. The top edge of the strip is finished straight. The bottom edge is finished straight with picots.
