Strip of bobbin lace with X-shapes made of narrow decorative bands with rectangular motifs

Strip of natural-colored bobbin lace, Binche lace. The repeating pattern consists of a jumble of small motifs made with different decorative grounds. The outlines of these are partially emphasized with narrow decorative bands with rectangles, made in shaped stitch. Below the center line the decorative bands form an X-shaped motif at regular intervals, with net stitch filling. The motifs are connected by an irregular decorative ground, a snowflake ground. The top and bottom of the strip are finished straight, with the bottom provided with picots. One short side is finished straight. There is a seam running across the entire width of the strip at approximately 15 cm, where possibly two strips have been joined.
