Handkerchief of batiste with a wide border of natural-colored appliqué lace: bobbin lace applied on machine-made tulle. Square model with round center piece of batiste. The pattern is symmetrical along each side and consists in the corners of a u-shaped decorative band with a series of rosette flowers in it. In the center of the u stands a rose branch with one large flower and three smaller leaves. Left and right flower branches with cup flowers stick out of the decorative bands in the corners towards each middle. Here a decorative band forms a stiffer frame in the form of a u, with a palmette crowned by berry sprigs in it. The scallop edge is formed by the u-shaped frames and some rosette and cup flowers. The motifs are made in linen stitch with outline threads and partly with cutwork relief contours. In the flower hearts and in several leaves netting has been applied.
