Strip of Appliqué Lace with Rosettes in Symmetrical Leafy Branches

Strip of natural-coloured appliqué lace: needle lace applied to machine-made tulle. Scattered pattern of four rows of leafy branches on a fine hexagonal mesh ground. Along the lower edge a repetitive motif of a symmetrical leafy branch with one rosette flower in the centre and one rosette flower in each of the two volutes below. The branch originates from a hanging flower with a drop-shaped heart, the petals of which are part of the shell edge along the underside. Various decorative grounds in the motifs and relief contours of thread bundles. The upper side is edged with a bobbin lace border.
