Apron of lace embroidery on tulle with medallions for a Zaan costume

Apron of natural-coloured lace embroidery: Lierse lace or Limerick lace (tambour work on machine-made tulle). Rectangular shape with a sprinkling pattern of twigs. Along the lower edge a wide pattern of a repeating composition with ascending and diagonal lines. The partly symmetrical composition consists of three flattened oval flowers or consoles, from which straight ascending sparse leaf vines rise. Under the middle console hangs a circular medallion, filled with a diamond pattern and surrounded by a laurel wreath. The two other consoles stand diagonally under the middle one, connected to it with a flower vine with rosette flowers. Between the successive compositions a rosette flower is set between two loose round medallions. Along the shallow shell border a pattern of lying S-scrolls of pearl string and feathered leaves, which enclose round medallions filled with a pattern of diagonal lines.
