About this work

Strip of blue with natural-coloured bobbin lace, blonde from Caen. The repeating and linked pattern consists along the lower side of the strip of a hanging three-lobed blue flower between two oval natural-coloured leaves. The successive flowers form the shell edge. Along the upper side of the strip the motifs are connected to each other by a blue mesh ground, a closed pin stitch ground. The flowers are made in net stitch and the leaves in linen stitch and around the solid work runs a silver thread as a contour thread. The top side of the strip is finished straight. The shell edge along the lower side is finished with picots.
