About this work
Handkerchief with a border of natural-colored needle lace, Brussels gauze lace. Around a batiste center in the shape of a Maltese Cross runs a broad lace strip. Four palmettes and four diamonds stand along the inner border, connected by fine scrolls. The corners are formed by deep shells with a flowing V-shaped volute, crossed by a C-shaped branch with an outward-facing rose and aster and an inward-facing snowball. On the middle of the sides stand three hanging lilies. The outer contour is fairly straight.
